Screen refurbishing workflow

  1. Separate the broken glass on a separator using cutting wire (e.g. 0.028–0.035 mm tungsten wire).

  2. Remove OCA glue with a glue remover tool and OCA remover wipes.

  3. Laminate new glass with OCA using an alignment mould, then remove bubbles.

  4. Cure UV glue with a UV curing lamp or box.

Also useful: frame deformation correctors and metal polishers for refurbishing housings.

FAQ

What is screen refurbishing?

Replacing only the cracked front glass of a working display: the old glass is separated, OCA is removed and new glass with OCA is laminated on.

Which cutting wire thickness should I use?

Thinner wire (e.g. 0.028 mm) cuts closer to the panel with less risk on OLEDs; thicker wire (0.035 mm) is stronger. Choose based on the screen type.

Do I need a UV curing lamp?

If you use UV-curing glue or solder mask, yes – the UV lamp hardens it.
