2UUL WS-015 Tungsten Screen Separation Wire, 0.015 mm

Curved OLED screens leave almost no gap between glass and panel, and a thick wire can crack the display as it goes in. The 2UUL WS-015 is the finest of 2UUL's tungsten separation wires, at 0.015 mm.

It's a tungsten alloy wire on a 100 m length, for cutting OCA adhesive and polarizer when separating LCD and OLED glass. Fine wire cuts cleanly in narrow gaps, but it's also the easiest to snap, so it suits careful, slow cutting rather than thick glue.

When the finest wire is the right one

• Cracked glass on a curved-edge OLED.

• A narrow gap where thicker wire won't start.

• Polarizer film that tears when cut with coarse wire.

• A display with damaged glass but a working panel.

Cutting tips

Heat the screen first so the OCA softens. Fix it on a separator, thread the wire into the gap and pull slowly with steady tension. Jerking or bending the wire sharply is what breaks it.

Choose the 0.015 mm WS-015 for curved and tight screens, the 0.028 mm WS-028 for everyday work, and the 0.035 mm WS-035 for thick glue. Store the jar somewhere cool and dry so the wire doesn't oxidize.
