Not every screen needs the thinnest wire. The 2UUL WS-028 is the middle gauge in 2UUL's tungsten range, 0.028 mm, for general LCD and OLED separation.

It's tungsten alloy wire on a 100 m length, for cutting OCA adhesive and polarizer film. The middle gauge fits most standard screen gaps on flat and gently curved displays and breaks less easily than the finest wire.

Everyday separation jobs

A cracked front glass on a flat OLED.
OCA adhesive that is too strong for the finest wire.
A slightly curved display with shattered glass.
Wire that keeps snapping at 0.015 mm.

Cutting tips

Heat the screen to soften the adhesive and fix it on a separator. Keep the wire taut and pull at a steady pace; going too fast can crack the screen, while stopping and starting can snap the wire.

The WS-028 is a good default; move to the WS-015 for tight curved screens or the WS-035 for thick, stubborn glue. Keep the jar sealed when not in use so the wire stays clean and dry.
