Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Hinge Flex Cable (F926)

Every connection that crosses from one half of a Galaxy Z Fold 3 to the other runs through flex cables in the hinge area, and those cables bend every single time the phone opens and closes. Over thousands of cycles, or after one hard drop on the spine, a trace can crack.

This aftermarket hinge flex cable fits the Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G (F926). It's the part to replace when diagnosis points to the flex that carries connections across the hinge.

Symptoms that point to the hinge flex

The tricky part is that a failing hinge flex imitates other faults. The screen may flicker or go black only at certain angles, a display may cut out when the phone is half-open, or features may stop working whenever the phone is folded. Faults that come and go with the hinge angle are the clearest clue. A screen that stays dead at every angle is more likely the display itself.

Test by slowly opening and closing the phone with the screen on and watching for changes. Route the new cable exactly as the original ran, check that it isn't pinched before closing up, and cycle the hinge a few dozen times during testing.

It's a careful disassembly, but replacing the flex is far cheaper than a display or board for the same symptoms.
