iMac 21.5" A1418 4K (2015-2016) LCD Screen Display Assembly

A 21.5-inch 4K Retina iMac (A1418) with a cracked panel, vertical lines or a backlight that flickers needs the full display assembly replaced. The glass is bonded to the panel, so there's no separate glass-only fix.

This aftermarket LCD screen display assembly is listed for the iMac 21.5-inch A1418 4K, years given as 2015 to 2016. It comes in S+ Grade.

Confirming the panel is at fault

Connect an external display first: if the external screen is fine, the panel is the problem. Typical panel faults are lines that stay put when the image changes, dark patches, uneven backlighting, flicker and impact cracks. If the external display shows the same artifacts, the fault is in the graphics or logic board instead, and a new panel won't help.

Make sure the iMac is the 4K Retina version, not the 2K A1418, which uses a different panel. Have new adhesive strips ready and a plastic cutting wheel or similar tool to cut the old adhesive.

Unplug the machine before opening it, and test the display before you bond it in.
