Buying guide

How to choose memory and GPU chips

  • GPU chipsets: AMD/ATI Radeon GPUs are listed by their full part number (e.g. 216-0810001). The part number must match exactly.

  • EEPROM / SPI flash: some chips store data that must be programmed – check whether the listing includes programming and whether you need a programmer.

  • NAND: iPhone NAND is paired to the board; replacing it needs a NAND programmer and usually restores the device to factory state.

Tools you'll need

BGA rework requires a rework station or preheater, a matching reballing stencil, solder paste or balls and good flux.

FAQ

Can I replace iPhone NAND?

Yes, but the NAND must be programmed for the board with a NAND programmer, and user data on the old NAND is lost unless it can be read first.

Are the GPU chipsets new?

The GPU listings are marked "Original New"; check each product page.

What is an EEPROM chip used for?

It stores small amounts of configuration data – on iPhone battery flexes, for example, the battery health data.
