How to choose gimbal parts

  • Diagnose the fault. "Gimbal motor overload" or a drifting horizon often comes from a damaged motor, arm or signal cable; a cracked image or no video points to the camera module or PTZ cable.

  • PTZ signal cable. The flat cable through the gimbal is a common wear part after crashes – listings name the model and cable type.

  • Lens glass and frames fix scratched or cracked front glass without replacing the camera.

  • Test tools. Gimbal signal cable test boards let you check a camera or cable before installing it.

FAQ

What does "gimbal motor overload" mean?

The gimbal cannot move freely – usually because of a damaged motor, bent arm, blocked movement or a faulty signal cable. Check for physical damage first.

What is a PTZ cable?

PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cable is the flat signal cable running through the gimbal that connects the camera to the drone's main board.

Do I need to calibrate after gimbal repair?

Yes, run gimbal calibration in the DJI app after replacing gimbal motors, the camera or the PTZ cable.
