Details
Most phone jobs never go near the top of a hot air range, but laptop and large-board work can. The SUGON 8650 is a 1300 W station whose spec table lists a 100–550°C range.
The listing describes digital temperature and airflow control, quick heating, automatic sleep and interchangeable nozzles. The unit is 190 × 260 × 170 mm and comes in EU 220 V or US 110 V versions. Note that the description text is copied from the 8630 Pro and gives the range as 100–500°C, so the 550°C top end should be confirmed.
When the 8650 is useful
Large chips that won't release at lower heat.
Damaged shields on laptop boards.
Failed ICs on thick multilayer boards.
Connectors cracked by a fall.
Practical tips
Preheat larger boards gently to avoid thermal shock, then move the handle in small circles about 2 to 3 cm above the part. Let the station cool down naturally before unplugging.
For phone-only benches, a 1000 W model such as the 8610DX Pro is usually enough, and it takes up less heat budget in a small, closed room.
