MacBook Air 13" A1932 (2018-2019) LCD Screen Display Assembly

The 2018 to 2019 Retina MacBook Air (A1932) was the first Air with a Retina screen, and it's still a common sight on repair benches. It usually comes in with a cracked screen from being closed on a pen or earbud, or with lines and backlight faults.

Diagnosing a failed A1932 display

Confirm the fault with an external monitor first. If the external picture is clean, look at the internal symptoms: cracks, lines that stay put, dark areas, a backlight that's dead or flickers with lid movement. A backlight that dims only at certain angles may be a display cable problem rather than the panel itself, so check the connection before ordering. Liquid over the keyboard can damage both.

Disconnect the battery before removing the display. Match the lid color to the machine and check the model number on the bottom case.

Either way, the fix is the complete display assembly, and with it fitted the A1932 is ready for more years of daily use.
