iPhone Air Taptic Engine Vibrator

The iPhone Air is light enough that every alert is a clear tap in the hand or pocket. When its Taptic Engine fails, the absence is obvious: calls on silent go unnoticed and the buttons lose their feedback.

This Taptic Engine vibrator fits the iPhone Air. It's aftermarket; the listing doesn't specify quality.

Symptoms of a faulty iPhone Air motor

• No vibration for calls and alerts.

• Weak or uneven feedback.

• Unusual buzzing or rattling.

• Button haptics that stopped after a drop or liquid exposure.

Before ordering

Check Sounds & Haptics and Focus modes, restart the phone, and check warranty or AppleCare status, since the Air is a recent model and the repair may be covered.

A thin phone needs a gentle hand

If you replace it yourself, work on a flat, padded surface so the slim frame isn't stressed. Open the display gently with low heat, disconnect the battery and swap the motor. Test vibration and button feedback before sealing, and keep the old unit until the new one has worked through a full day of calls and alerts.

A working motor gives the iPhone Air back the crisp, light taps that suit such a slim phone.
