Details

Model numbers usually settle compatibility, but not here. The 2019 and 2020 27-inch iMacs both carry model number A2115, yet the shop lists their display assemblies separately. This one is for the 2019 machine, so the year matters as much as the model number.

It's an aftermarket LCD screen display assembly for the iMac 27-inch A2115 5K (2019), offered in S+ Grade.

Typical faults and the first test

Impact cracks, vertical bands, dark patches, a backlight that flickers or fails, and image retention that won't clear are the common display complaints. Before ordering, connect an external display: if the external screen looks right, the iMac's panel is the fault; if it shows the same problem, look at the graphics side instead.

Check the year in About This Mac. On these iMacs the glass is bonded to the panel and the whole assembly is held to the housing with adhesive, so you'll need new adhesive strips and a cutting tool for the old ones.

Unplug the iMac, cut the old adhesive and test the new panel before bonding it. That last step avoids having to cut it free again.
