Details

A Galaxy Z Fold 4 slips out of a jacket pocket and lands face-down on the pavement. The inner screen is safe inside, but the cover screen takes the hit: a spiderweb crack, and a few minutes later, a band of color across the middle.

This outer OLED assembly is the cover screen for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 5G, sold as an aftermarket part in a single option.

When the Fold 4 cover screen needs replacing

The usual cases are cracked glass, lines or blotches on the OLED, a cover screen that stays black while the inner screen works, and touch that's unresponsive or registers phantom taps. A cover screen that has lifted at the edge and lets dust in is another reason.

The screen is glued to the frame. Loosen it with gentle heat, lift with thin picks, and disconnect the flex before removing it. Clean off the old adhesive, fit fresh adhesive, and test the new screen before pressing it down.

A new cover screen means the Fold 4 can be used closed again, without opening it for every message.
