A Mini 3 Pro coming down onto a gravel path lands hard, skids, and from then on wobbles every time it hovers near the ground. The lenses on its underside are scratched, and DJI Fly now shows downward vision warnings. It's a typical pattern for this part.

This downward vision sensor module is listed for the DJI Mini 3 Pro and supplies visual positioning data to the flight controller. No maker is stated, so it's offered as aftermarket.

Mini 3 Pro landing and hover faults

Drifting near the ground, imprecise landings, downward vision errors and visible lens damage on the underside are the usual reasons for replacing it.

Protecting the new sensor

Use a landing pad on rough or dusty ground, and hand-catch the drone where landing isn't safe. Clean the lenses gently after flights. When fitting the module, keep the lenses free of fingerprints, seat the connector evenly and test-hover low before flying normally.

Fitted and looked after, a new downward sensor gives the Mini 3 Pro stable hovering and soft landings again. Keep the old module until the new one has flown a few times.
