DJI Air 3S

Details

The DJI Air 3S looks ahead in two ways: vision cameras that see obstacles much as our eyes do, and a forward LiDAR that helps in low light. When the front vision assembly is damaged, forward obstacle detection suffers, and the app usually reports it as a sensor error.

This front vision obstacle sensor assembly is listed for the DJI Air 3S and handles forward visual sensing. The listing doesn't say who made it, so it's an aftermarket part. It's the vision assembly only; the listing doesn't mention the LiDAR.

Air 3S front-vision problems

Obstacle detection failures or warnings at the front.
Unstable hovering close to objects ahead.
Cracked or scratched front vision lenses after a collision.

Installation notes

Clean the lenses and retest before opening the drone. If replacement is needed, handle the new assembly by its frame, keep the lenses free of fingerprints and align it exactly as the original. Calibrate the vision system and test forward sensing slowly in open space.

Back in working order, the front sensors give the Air 3S its full forward awareness again.
