DJI Mavic 3 Classic Gimbal Camera Yaw Motor

On the Mavic 3 Classic, sideways drift in the picture and yaw errors in the app can come from the yaw motor or from the cable feeding it. The two parts cost a similar amount, so a careful check before ordering saves buying the wrong one.

This gimbal camera yaw motor is listed for the DJI Mavic 3 Classic. We sell it as aftermarket; the listing gives no maker.

Yaw-motor signs on the Classic

• The camera drifts left or right or won't hold its heading.

• Grinding, noise or stiffness when the gimbal turns sideways.

• Yaw failure or overload errors after a crash.

Motor or cable?

A motor fault usually feels mechanical: roughness or resistance when you turn the yaw axis by hand with the drone off. A cable fault tends to be intermittent and electrical, coming and going as the gimbal moves. Inspect the cable along its length before replacing the motor.

Protect the flex cables while fitting. Calibrate the gimbal afterward and pan slowly in flight to check for drift. The listing says the motor is tested before delivery but gives no details.
